Hyundai Canada is releasing the most affordable all-wheel drive compact SUV in the segment. In an effort to draw a larger share of growing demand for smaller SUV's, Hyundai has created an all-wheel drive version of the base Tucson. It is clear that more consumers than ever are demanding all-wheel drive, so Hyundai responded with this new model, which starts at only $26,999 for the manufacturer's suggest retail price or MSRP.
While this new version of the Hyundai Tucson is priced very aggressively, it still includes features that are missing among comparable models. For example, the Tucson is equipped with hill descent control, heated front seats, LED daytime running lights, rear view camera, drive mode selection, which alters the steering feel and gearing to your preference, and windshield wiper de-icer. From a pricing perspective, this new Tucson model is $2,661 less than the comparable Toyota Rav4, $449 less than a Nissan Rogue, $1,196 less than a Mazda CX5, $1,100 less than Ford Escape and $2,491 less than a Honda CR-V. And every Hyundai includes a five-year or 100,000 km warranty, compared to the three-years or 60,000 km for most other brands.
The Hyundai Tucson is also a Top Safety Pick+, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and it received a 5-Star Overall Crash Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). And top it off, independent agency J.D. Power designated the 2016 Hyundai Tucson as its most appealing small SUV in the 2016 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) StudySM.
