Here at Castlegar Hyundai, we have parked a 2016 Tucson in the showroom. By far, it is the vehicle that grabs the most attention. Hyundai's approach to design is influenced by the fluid and dynamic shapes found in our natural environment. In turn, the Tucson is not boxy, static or dull. The complex shape of the sheet metal gives a sense of movement and excitement. Hyundai also added its signature grill and front fascia, adding just a subtle hint of aggression. Focused on every detail, Hyundai also upgraded the Tucson with machined alloy wheels in a custom design that fits with the fluid style of this vehicle. Overall, it is a striking look. Hyundai also introduced a slate of dazzling new colours for the Tucson, from Sedona Sunset to Mojave Sand to Caribbean Blue. Clearly, Hyundai pursued a vehicle design that would push the Tucson to a new level among its competitors. "This may be the best-looking vehicle in the segment," according to Postmedia writer Lorne Drury.
Ride and handling
To improve comfort and driving dynamics, Hyundai improved the Tucson's suspension and added the use of structural adhesives to strengthen the joints between panels and improve overall durability. The Tucson also includes more responsive steering. In fact, driver's can now customize the feel of the steering by choosing one of three modes offering different levels of resistance. Hyundai has also beefed up cabin insulation and changed some of the materials used in the Tucson to dramatically reduce road noise. The luxury look of the Tucson is now matched by its smooth, quiet ride.
Technology
Hyundai also set apart the Tucson by offering two engine choices in the 2016 model, a 2.0L four-cylinder and now a 1.6L turbo engine combined with a seven-speed transmission. The result is much-improved fuel economy with more torque and precise shifting. The Tucson is now available with the latest safety technology, including a forward-collision warning system, blind-spot detection, lane-changing alerts, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection and so much more. All of this technology is easy to use and carefully integrated so that you don't need to be an expert to enjoy its benefits. You find many features in the Tucson that are simply unavailable in comparable models.
